Singapore's Luneta: Singapore Botanical Gardens |
Singapore Botanical Gardens
Now at the airport, concluding a fabulous albeit absolutely spontaneous trip to Singapore. Sitting at Wang "your local cafe" having some last doses of laksa (for the third time on this trip!) and kaya toast. My only regret is not waking up early enough to have Yakun Kaya Toast at the original store. But taking on the option of going to the Botanical Gardens for a quick morning run - instead of eating - was absolutely worth it!
From the couples walking around ...
... to the seniors doing tai chi ...
... to the gorgeous sculptures by (I just learned) Sydney Harpley ...
... the Botanical Gardens is a beautiful experience! There is also an orchidarium for those who are obsessed with orchids. And here's a tip from a local: if you are a senior and you present your card, you get a major major discount - from $10 to $1 (Sing.)!
I ran at 8.45 a.m. and it was still very, very cool. If I lived in Singapore I would be there everyday for a quick run. The run was great preparation for all the eating I did, too!
Forgive the blabbing, posts on food in a bit! ...
