The Tagaytay Series 2011: Antonio's, Bag of Beans

TAGAYTAY

Went on a road trip with my girls Erika and Mylah.

There is not much to do in Tagaytay for 30-boring-somethings. There are no art museums. There's a zip line, a golf course at the Highlands, boatrides to the volcano. But boring beauties don't want to do that. We settled for eating til we felt like oompa loompas.

Bag of Beans. 3650 Aguinaldo Highway, Mendez Crossing West, Tagaytay City, Cavite. Major credit cards accepted. No reservations required. (046) 413-2724.http://bagofbeanstagaytay.net/

Bag of Beans is perfect for breakfast or merienda. Tagaytay's all day cool weather makes it the perfect location for this kind of cafe. Order the bottomless house blend with a shepherd's pie. Regular Filipino breakfast menus - tapsilog, bangusilog - also available. Go home with their Mountain Arabica.

Antonio's Breakfast (same address and number). No reservations required. 11.30 am to 4 pm daily. Wheelchair accessible. Major credit cards accepted for both.

You can't go wrong with this place although you can go broke. Come with at least P1,500 per head. But if you can splurge, this place to my mind still has the best mojitos and salads. Thanks in large part to their adjacent farm.
For your entree, try this Trio of beef and lamb loin.

Or this veal ravioli with cheese and truffle oil. Highly indulgent. Pops in your mouth kind of experience.
Or you can be a boring and have the sea bass.
