After seven days on the GM diet, I wasted no time to have what I now consider an absolute privilege to eat: a pizza. Delivered at just ten mins past midnight of the last day of the diet I am ecstatic! I have realized that more than chips, steak, chocolate, cookies or kakanin, what I need the most in this world is a slice of pizza. There is nothing like enjoying baked cheese on dough. If I was to have my last meal on earth, this would be it. Four cheese, thin crust, and a few slices of pepperoni.
By the way, the General Motors diet allows only fruits on the first day, only vegetables on the second day, fruits and veggies on the third day, bananas and milk and a veggie soup on the fourth day, beef and tomatoes on day 5, beef and veggies on day 6, and brown rice (yuck) and veggies on the last day. It guarantees that u will lose ten pounds at least by the 7th day. Absolute crap.
I weigh the same and am just happy to have my slice of pizza. Next time I want to lose weight I'll sign up for a marathon. But I'm never eating just veggies again!

YAY, another pizza fanatic! I often say that pizza is one of my basic food groups. When I last went on a strict diet, I was literally fantasizing about pizza, and like you, it was the very first thing I ate when I went off the diet.
I'm against fad diets like the one you were on. A healthy, balanced diet is the only way. You should always be suspicious of anything that guarantees such fast weight loss. Experts say that a realistic weight loss (one you can sustain) is about 2 pounds a week.
Personally, I don't want to go on another diet ever again. Food is just too good!!! :-D
I feel your pain. I also did the GM diet and didn't lose weight. It just made me weak, frustrated and extremely hungry :-)
katrina! omg when i saw your comment ... i suddenly missed you hahahaha! you've been the constant in my very erratic blogging life lol!
sweet dreams - di baaa? fake yung diet! no truth in advertising tsk! at least i know i'm not alone haha. thanks!
Hi Margaux... consider me lucky for coming across your "experience" with this diet. I was about to try it myself... read about it... actually, planned it... i just couldn't find a friend, relative nor a credible acquaintance who could give me an actual account of success.
Then... i came across your blog (btw, I actually met you at one of those Food Writing gigs of Teta Tirona and found you to be quite sincere). 'Suffice to say that the said diet "plan" had since been abandoned. You spared me a week of frustration. Thanks!
