After a lovely dinner at Mango Tree the other night, we found ourselves gifted by the very gracious and hardworking Mayor Lani Cayetano and super husband Senator Alan Peter Cayetano with goodies from Senator Pia Cayetano's new restaurant Slice on 7th Avenue on Bonifacio High Street at the Fort. Another brother, Lino Cayetano, the director cum heartthrob says he plays barista and works up a mean coffee at Slice every now and then. For the opening, Senator Alan Peter shared that Senator Pia got her two daughters to demo muffin making with her and so Slice became associated with muffins.
Well it's a good thing because the muffins are delish! In fact I think I'm switching loyalties from cupcakes to muffins, with all due respect to cupcake maven Sonja! Except maybe for her Choco Cream Pie cupcake which I am terribly addicted to. :)
I have yet to visit the place and see the menu but from what I tasted, my fave was the dark chocolate chip (second row, center) and the carrot muffin (lower right). Also loved the chocolate chip with walnut muffin.

Also yummy but very sweet were these cupcakes. I loved the banana chocolate cupcake with walnuts (middle and upper left). Very moist!
This eye-catching blue one has chocolate underneath!
