Loved the Peking Duck and the steamed garoupa. But interestingly enough, the highlight of the evening was not just the Chinese food but the rituals performed by the geomancer Mr. Joseph Chau Kam Shing. I think for this event the food took a backseat to the good luck not just being spread but bestowed by this man.
We were made to hold up lanterns while he went around giving a blessing to the tune of "omalibenhohom" (or something that sounded like that!).
I was also blown away by the performances from Chang Kai Shek students. I really like that school.
So apparently the Mid Autumn Festival is a harvest festival where the moon is worshiped.
I only worship one God but it was a fun evening.
PS I didn't eat any mooncake which I don't like anyways haha.
There is no sincerer love than the love of food. - George Bernard Shaw
